B+W for 77mm diameter F-Pro702 gray 25% MRC

The B+W Transition Gray F-Pro 702 MRC is made of highly transparent Schott glass. The grey transition is applied to one side of the filter by the same technology as the anti-reflective coating. The fuller grey layers are achieved by combining the vapours of different metals in a vacuum. The glass is mounted in a brass F-PRO frame to ensure that the filter rotates smoothly. The B+W 702 MRC filters only 25% of light (-2 aperture numbers) in the darkest places.

Gray transition filters are almost indispensable for landscape photography, where they balance the large light differences of the scene being photographed. This problem arises mainly with digital sensors that do not have as high exposure flexibility as film negatives. MRC layers provide good light transmission (more than 99%) and prevent the light reflected from the digital sensor from returning to the optical system and creating a veil. The last layer protects the scratch filter and makes it easier to clean. With the MRC surface antireflection treatment, two B+W transition filters can also be used at one time.
