Sample collection and preparation
- The BIOZEK Total Cholesterol Self-Test is performed using fresh whole capillary blood taken from a fingertip
- Whole blood samples should be tested immediately after collection
- Fingertip samples must be obtained from a free, spontaneous flow of blood after lancing
- Do not collect capillary blood by applying excessive pressure or squeezing the finger, as this can force tissue fluid into the blood and cause false results
