Bisacodyl Krka is an anti-constipant (laxative). It acts on the motility of the large intestine, promoting the elimination of stool and gas by increasing intestinal peristalsis (bowel movement that leads to emptying). The preparation is used in acute functional constipation (e.g. change of residence when travelling, change of lifestyle).
Only on the doctor's recommendation, the preparation is used to prepare the patient for surgery and to empty the bowels before examination of the colon (X-ray, endoscopic, sonographic), for a temporary period of constipation in painful conditions in the anus (anal fissures, hemorrhoids) and in secondary constipation accompanying other diseases.
It should also only be used under medical supervision in long-term bedridden patients and in patients treated with opioids (strong painkillers) suffering from chronic constipation. The product can be used by adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age. Children can only take the product under the supervision of a doctor. The package contains 105 tablets.
Dosage and method of use
Children aged 10 years or with chronic constipation must be treated only under the supervision of a doctor. Children 2 years of age or younger should not take bisacodyl.
Short-term treatment for constipation:
Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age:
1 - 2 coated tablets (5 - 10 mg) daily at bedtime.
It is recommended to start treatment with the lowest dose. The dose may be adjusted up to the maximum recommended dose to induce regular bowel movements. The maximum recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
Children 2-10 years:
1 coated tablet (5 mg) daily at bedtime.
Children aged 2-3 years should take the tablets exceptionally, after a doctor's recommendation, if the child's abilities allow it (risk of inhaling the tablet). In this age group, it may be appropriate to administer bisacodyl in the form of suppositories. In preparation for diagnostic procedures and preoperatively.

1 tablet (5 mg) in the evening is recommended. The following morning, it is recommended to administer bisacodyl (5 mg) in the form of a suppository.
Contraindications
Children 2 years of age and younger should not take bisacodyl. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and blister after "EXP".
