A wide choice of wash programmes
Eco 50°C
An economy programme for normally soiled mixed crockery and cutlery, which optimises water and energy consumption.
Auto 45–65°C
The automatic programme uses sensors to adapt the wash cycle to the current level of soiling and adjusts the cycle parameters as needed.
Intensive 70°C
A programme designed for heavily soiled pots, pans, durable crockery and cutlery with dried-on or burnt-on food residue.
Short 60°C
A programme for when you need clean and dry dishes faster. It completes a full cycle in less than 90 minutes.
Quick 45°C
A time-saving programme particularly suitable for lightly soiled dishes, glasses, cutlery and more heat-sensitive items.
Glass 40°C
A gentle programme designed for glasses and more delicate crockery that requires a gentler wash at a lower temperature.
Silent 50°C
A programme optimised for the quietest possible dishwasher operation. It reduces the spray pressure and extends the wash phase to limit noise while maintaining an effective wash.
Favourite
Lets you save a frequently used combination of a wash programme and an additional function, and then easily start it with a single command.
Better drying results with EfficientDry
The EfficientDry function helps to achieve better-dried dishes without the need for extra towelling. After the programme finishes, the door of the BOSCH SMV8ECX05E Serie 8 dishwasher automatically opens slightly, which allows moisture to escape, reduces condensation and gently cools the dishes. What's more, this more natural way of drying helps to save energy.
Stainless steel with a lower carbon footprint
Our Class A dishwashers, made in Germany, contain a proportion of CO₂-reduced stainless steel. This specially manufactured material is carefully tracked and assigned to these dishwashers via a certified mass balance system.* Compared to conventional stainless steel, it has a carbon footprint that is up to 40% lower.**
*During production, the reduced-CO2 stainless steel is mixed with conventional stainless steel, but is allocated to our energy efficiency class A dishwashers based on a mass balance calculation (according to ISO 22095), verified and confirmed by TÜV Rheinland.
**Reduced-CO2 stainless steel consists of 95% higher-quality recycled material. The comparison is with conventional stainless steel used in the manufacture of our dishwashers.
More intensive washing with the Extra Clean Zone
The Extra Clean Zone helps to remove tougher dirt from dishes placed in the top basket. Three rotating water jets intensify soaking and spraying in this area without needing to increase the amount of detergent or the water temperature. Simply activate the function and the dishwasher will provide more intensive care exactly where it's needed.
TimeLight displays the programme progress on the floor
With a fully integrated dishwasher, you don't have to open the door to find out how long the programme has left. The TimeLight function projects information about the current wash cycle, including the remaining time, directly onto the floor. This means you can always keep an eye on the dishwasher's activity.
Emotion Light illuminates the interior
The Emotion Light function provides clear illumination of the dishes inside the dishwasher. A light located at the top automatically turns on when the door is opened and off again when it is closed. This makes loading and unloading dishes more convenient, even in poor ambient light.
Flexible Max Flex Pro baskets
The Max Flex Pro baskets are designed to make it easy to store different types of dishes while holding them securely in place during the wash. The adaptable layout allows you to make better use of the available space, and the improved sliding system ensures the baskets move smoothly during loading and unloading.
VarioDrawer Pro adds extra space
The VarioDrawer Pro cutlery drawer creates a separate level for cutlery, ladles, small kitchen utensils or even espresso cups. Fold-down elements allow you to adapt the space for cutlery with wider handles, and lowered sections on the sides offer room for really small items. In addition, red-marked touchpoints help you quickly identify the adjustment options.
Proven hygienic performance
The Eco 50°C programme achieves a hygiene level certified by the Institute for Integrative Hygiene and Virology, and effectively eliminates viruses such as influenza and coronaviruses. An even higher level of hygiene can be achieved with the Intensive 70°C programme or the Machine Care maintenance cycle, which are also effective against more resistant enveloped and non-enveloped viruses.
Dosage Assistant for efficient detergent use
The Dosage Assistant helps to use the cleaning tablet evenly and effectively. After being released from the dispenser, the tablet drops into a special collection tray at the top of the basket, where it gradually dissolves. This allows the detergent to be distributed evenly throughout the cycle and contributes to clean, residue-free dishes.
Smart Start selects the right moment
Smart Start helps you manage your appliance's energy consumption more strategically. This feature automatically selects the dishwasher's start time based on one of two presets you can set in the Home Connect app, which take into account two parameters within the wash cycle: the availability and proportion of renewable energy (such as solar or wind), or lower energy costs when your electricity rates are lowest.*
*Cost savings require compatible switching between high and low electricity tariffs. Optimisation is performed either to maximise the share of renewable energy in the grid or to reduce costs. The availability of features may vary from country to country.
Additional downloadable programmes
You can expand the dishwasher's range of options with the Programme Download function. Through the Home Connect app, you can get additional wash programmes that better suit specific needs or dish types. The BOSCH SMV8ECX05E Serie 8 can thus adapt to situations for which the basic set of programmes is not ideal.
Colour TFT display for clear control
The colour TFT display clearly shows information about the selected programme, active functions, the current cycle status, and the remaining time. The combination of easy-to-read text and graphic symbols makes it easy to navigate the settings, and the display also provides practical instructions for using the dishwasher. It will also alert you when you need to top up the salt or rinse aid.
ActiveWater uses water efficiently
We designed the ActiveWater system to wash dishes really thoroughly while minimising resource consumption. Instead of just using more water, it uses it more efficiently. Thanks to targeted spraying, rapid circulation and advanced filtration, our dishwashers achieve hygienically clean and sparkling dishes. This efficient design allows us to achieve these results with less water, and therefore less energy to heat it.
Quiet operation with SilentPowerDrive
Dishwashers with SilentPowerDrive ensure efficient washing at a low noise level. They are equipped with a brushless motor designed for energy-efficient operation. The motor helps to reduce noise caused by friction and contributes to the appliance's smooth and quiet running.
10-year anti-rust-through warranty
The high-quality materials and workmanship of the interior allow us to offer a 10-year warranty against the inner tub rusting through from the inside. The dishwasher's construction is thus ready for long-term daily use.
Intensive Zone for heavily soiled pots and pans
The Intensive Zone function enhances the washing effect in the lower basket by increasing the spray pressure and water temperature. It is therefore ideal for heavily soiled pots and pans, while you can wash more delicate dishes in the upper basket at the same time. The function can be combined with a range of wash programmes depending on the current load.
Automatic programmes adapt the wash to the dishes
You don't have to guess the ideal settings every time. Automatic programmes adjust the water temperature and rinsing process according to the amount of dishes and how dirty they are. The dishwasher therefore uses the precise amount of water and settings needed for the current load.
Get an overview of your usage with Statistics
The Statistics function in the Home Connect app gives you a clear overview of how you actually use your appliances. You can see which programmes and settings you choose most often, as well as your total energy and water consumption over time. A 12-month history makes it easy to track how your choices affect your consumption month by month, giving you a clear picture of your daily habits.
Consumption forecast before starting a programme
Wondering how much energy and water a particular programme will use? The Consumption Forecast function in the Home Connect app shows you the estimated energy and water consumption, as well as the expected duration, for any combination of programme and optional function you select. This lets you calmly compare the options and choose the programme that best suits the current dishes in the dishwasher and your needs.
Automatic notifications sent directly to your phone
You don't have to keep checking if the dishwasher has finished. With Home Connect automatic notifications, you can receive information about the current programme status and other useful alerts on your mobile device. This way, you can easily know what's happening with your dishwasher, even when you're out of the kitchen.
Remote diagnostics make troubleshooting easier
If the appliance is not working correctly, Remote Diagnostics can help. After contacting customer service and with your permission, the dishwasher can be checked remotely to locate any problem and recommend a suitable solution. If a technician's visit is necessary, the service can use the information obtained to better prepare for the next steps.
Control the dishwasher with your voice
With Home Connect, the BOSCH SMV8ECX05E Serie 8 can also be linked to a compatible Amazon Alexa device, letting you control selected functions with voice commands. The availability of the relevant Alexa skill depends on your set country and language.
Silence on demand quiets the dishwasher when you need it
When you need a bit more quiet at home, you can activate Silence on demand via the Home Connect app. This function reduces the dishwasher's noise to a minimum for up to 30 minutes, while the wash cycle continues. It's useful, for example, during a call, while working, or when you're taking a moment to relax.
Favourite setting at a single touch
The Favourite Programme function lets you save a combination of a frequently used programme and an additional function. For example, you can combine Eco 50°C with the ExtraDry function and launch the saved setting later with a single touch, either directly on the control panel or via the Home Connect app.
Lifetime AquaStop warranty against water damage
Every Bosch appliance undergoes precise checks according to strictly set standards for quality, performance, and sustainability. All Bosch dishwashers have the AquaStop system and a lifetime warranty against water damage, as well as a ten-year warranty against rusting through of the inner tub.
