BrainMax Basic Blue and Green Light Blocking Glasses

BrainMax Basic Blue and Green Light Blocking Glasses
BrainMax blue and green light blocking glasses, Basic
Glasses designed to protect your circadian rhythm (body clock). Wear them 2 hours before bedtime to block the blue and green light spectrum. They block 100% of blue and green light. Wearing blue-blocking glasses before bed improves sleep, health (by promoting melatonin release) and morning energy levels. The lenses prevent eye strain and stimulate melatonin production when worn in the evening, helping you fall asleep faster and enjoy better quality sleep.
Blue and green light blocking glasses, Basic
Glasses designed to be worn 1.5–2 hours before bedtime to block blue and green light and optimise your circadian rhythm. They block up to 100% of harmful blue and green light.
Benefits of blue and green light blocking glasses
Wearing blue-blocking glasses before bed significantly improves sleep quality, boosts overall health by increasing melatonin production, and gives you more morning energy. Read our article on what melatonin does and how to increase its levels, or why sleep is important and how to work on improving it. Research also shows that blocking both the blue and green parts of the spectrum significantly enhances the positive effects on sleep.
The problem with blue light
In today's digital era, few can tear their eyes away from a screen, whether it is a TV, phone, or computer. With the rising use of these electronic devices and LED lighting, new problems have emerged.
- Exposure to blue light from screens before bedtime disrupts melatonin production and sleep patterns.
- Blue light exposure can lead to macular degeneration.
- Excessive saturation of blue light can reduce visual acuity and make focusing difficult.
- Blue light causes photochemical damage to the retina and macula, triggering oxidative stress in the eyes.
- Sleep disturbances can lead to depression and an increased risk of illness.
Not all blue light is harmful
Blue light between 380 and 470nm is considered harmful because it can cause retinal damage and cataracts, and is linked to sleep disruption. However, not all blue light spectra are bad. For example, the spectrum from 470 to 500nm, also known as turquoise-blue light, is generally considered beneficial. This range of visible blue light is good because it stimulates natural reflexes that protect the eyes from overexposure, while also supporting cognitive and memory functions in the brain. At the same time, it stimulates photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, supports the pupillary reflex, and regulates the circadian cycle.
