Ginseng is the name given to both American, Korean and Asian ginseng, all of which belong to the Panax genus. American ginseng contains ginsenosides, which are the active compounds that give ginseng its medicinal properties. Strengthens the organism, immune system and overall vitality, promotes sexual health, physical strength and also normal blood sugar levels, blood circulation, cognitive function and normal muscle function. However, ginseng should be avoided by pregnant women.
Benefits of herbal tinctures
Maceration is probably the oldest type of herb processing. Plants steeped in distilled alcohol have taken firm root in Western medicine. Alcohol is used to "break down" the plant's cell wall, allowing the release of biologically active compounds. The highest quality plants are selected for the tincture and after thorough cleansing they are slowly infused in 45% alcohol. Tinctures are much more concentrated than herbal decoctions alone, making their effects more noticeable in a shorter period of time. Moreover, thanks to the alcohol content, they have a long shelf life and can last for several years if stored properly. The tincture is packed in dark bottles to protect it sufficiently from light. You can take it on its own, but also add it to water or juice.
