Maceration of herbs
Once the fenugreek has reached full maturity and the seed pods have begun to brown and harden, the plant can then be harvested. After harvesting, the plants are sieved and cleaned before the seed is separated from the pods. They are then prepared for the process of extracting the active substances by maceration. For BrainMax Pure Tincture of Fenugreek, the highest quality plants are carefully selected and after thorough purification they are slowly infused in alcohol (maceration of herbs). This tincture contains 45% alcohol. Tinctures are much more effective than herbal decoctions alone. In addition, due to the alcohol content, they have a long shelf life.

Maceration is probably the oldest type of herb processing. Plants steeped in distilled alcohol have taken firm root in Western medicine. Alcohol is used to "break down" the plant's cell wall, allowing the release of biologically active compounds. Recommended dosage
