MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, is an organic form of sulfur commonly found in our bodies. It is the most absorbable form of sulphur. It occurs naturally in the ocean, where sulphur is released from microscopic plankton. BrainMax Pure MSM is a pure powder with no added substances. The powder has a slightly bitter taste, is well soluble and can be added to either water or juice.
MSM
It is formed in the ocean by plankton releasing sulphur into seawater. From there, it subsequently escapes into the atmosphere. In the gaseous state, it reacts with ozone and ultraviolet light to form Dimethyl Sulfate (DMSO) and DMSO2, known as MSM. The MSM then falls to the ground with the rain, where it is used by the plants. However, commercial use of MSM from plants is not possible (MSM is found in plants only in trace amounts), so it is produced by oxidation of DMSO to MSM. This MSM is chemically identical to MSM found in nature.
