Collected by hand

The Cafédirect Colombia Reserva SCA 82 ground coffee comes from the COSURCA cooperative, which was founded in 1993 thanks to the sponsorship of the United Nations International Organization. The aim was to promote the cultivation of quality coffee. The cooperative began to thrive especially after 2000, when Rene Ausecha took over the position of CEO. The coffee quality is guaranteed by the coffee quality manager Mr. Jahir Alberto, who is a certified Specialty Coffee Association of America, Cupper, Q Grader and who oversees the entire bean production process at the COSURCA cooperative. Thanks to the cooperative's involvement in fair trade, its farmers are diversifying their production. They also process fruit juices, grind grain and roast coffee for the local market. Farmers coffee Cafédirect Colombia Reserva are hand-picked as they ripen. The coffee beans are extracted from the cherries using the washed method, i.e. by washing them in spring water and then drying them outside in the air and sun. The gentle processing method allows the coffee to retain its velvety smoothness and fullness, as well as a flavour dominated by chocolate notes.
