Canesten GYN 6 days is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent used to treat gynaecological inflammations caused by fungal microorganisms, yeasts, fungi mainly of the genus Candida. In addition, it counteracts vaginal infections caused by gram-positive microbes, mainly streptococci and staphylococci, Gardnerella vaginalis and gram-negative microbes (Bacteroides). Canesten GYN 6 days is designed to treat vaginal yeast infections and thereby relieve itching and burning sensation, discharge and redness. It is suitable for women who prefer continuous treatment of vaginal yeast infection. The cream is introduced into the vagina using the included applicators (6 pieces). It is also suitable for the treatment of external symptoms of yeast infection or for the treatment of a partner who does not have symptoms of yeast infection (yeast balanitis). Yeast infection in women often occurs when the microbial balance of the vaginal environment is disturbed and it is not possible to keep the number of yeasts (most often Candida albicans) under control. Vaginal mycosis can be uncomfortable (burning, itching and discharge), but in most cases it is relatively easy to treat.

Use of Canesten GYN 1 DEN cream
Canesten GYN 6 days is suitable from 12 years of age. In the case of a 6-day treatment, the contents of 1 applicator of vaginal cream are introduced into the vagina every evening for 6 consecutive days. Treatment should not be carried out during menstruation. Tampons must not be used during treatment. In case of yeast balanitis in men, apply Canesten GYN cream for 6 days in a thin layer on the affected areas 2-3 times a day and rub. Before each application of the cream, the affected area should be thoroughly washed and dried. The usual duration of treatment is 1-2 weeks. The sexual partner should also undergo local treatment, even if he or she does not have symptoms of infection, e.g. itching, inflammation. The recommended treatment is the application of Canesten GYN for 6 days on the foreskin and stomach, 2-3 times a day for 1-2 weeks. The administration of clotrimazole in pregnancy is possible, but only under the supervision of a doctor. When Canesten GYN 6 days therapy during pregnancy, the application must be carried out by a doctor. Always follow the instructions for use of the medicine as given in the package leaflet.
Canesten product specifics
Clotrimazole, when applied to the genital area, may reduce the effectiveness and safety of some contraceptive devices, such as the condom. The effect is temporary and occurs only during treatment.
Contraindications
The use of the product in pregnancy must be decided by a doctor. In the first three months of pregnancy, the product should not be used. If the product is applied to the nipples, the breasts should be washed before breastfeeding.
Ingredients
One gram of vaginal cream contains 10 mg of clotrimazole, the content of 1 applicator (about 5 g) corresponds to 50 mg of clotrimazole. Excipients: Benzyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, cetyl stearyl alcohol, purified water, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, octyldodecanol.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the label and on the box.
Notice
Read the package insert carefully. Canesten GYN 6 days is a medicinal product for vaginal use. It contains the medicinal substance clotrimazole.
