Canesten Gyn Combi Pack is a medicinal product designed for the comprehensive treatment of vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis), thereby relieving burning, itching, swelling, discharge and redness. It is a broad-spectrum antifungal used to treat gynaecological inflammation caused by fungal microorganisms, yeasts, and moulds, particularly of the Candida genus. It works directly at the site of the infection while also treating the infection on the external intimate areas. Furthermore, it is suitable for treating a partner. Treating both sexual partners prevents possible reinfection. Canesten Gyn Combi Pack is also effective against certain types of bacteria!* The pack contains 1 vaginal tablet with the active substance clotrimazole, which treats the yeast infection from the inside, while the cream treats the symptoms of candidiasis on the external intimate areas. The tablet is inserted into the vagina in the evening before bedtime using the practical applicator. The cream is intended for application on the external intimate areas. Yeast infections in women often occur when the microbial balance of the vaginal environment is disturbed, and it is no longer possible to keep the number of yeasts present (most commonly Candida albicans) under control. A vaginal yeast infection can certainly be unpleasant, but in most cases, it is relatively easy to treat.

How to Use Canesten Gyn Combi Pack
Canesten Gyn Combi Pack is suitable for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age. The vaginal tablet is a single-dose application, preferably in the evening before bedtime. The tablet is inserted as deep as possible into the vagina using the hygienic applicator included in the pack. Treatment should not be carried out during menstruation. Tampons must not be used during treatment. Canesten cream is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas 2 to 3 times a day; for women, on the external genitalia to the anus, and for men, on the skin of the foreskin and glans. The usual duration of treatment is 1–2 weeks. Treating both sexual partners prevents possible reinfection. A sexual partner should be treated with Canesten cream, even if they show no signs of infection. The administration of clotrimazole during pregnancy is possible, but only under a doctor's supervision. When using Canesten Gyn Combi Pack during pregnancy, the vaginal tablet must be inserted by a doctor. During pregnancy, the tablet must be inserted without using the applicator! Always follow the instructions for use provided in the package leaflet.
Canesten Product Specifics
Clotrimazole, when applied to the genital area (intravaginally for women, on the labia and adjacent areas of the vulva; on the foreskin and glans of the penis for men), may reduce the effectiveness and safety of certain contraceptive devices, such as condoms. The effect is temporary and occurs only during the course of treatment. Canesten cream contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions.
Contraindications
The product is not suitable for girls under 12 years of age. The product should not be used during the first three months of pregnancy. If the product is applied to the nipples, the breasts must be washed before breastfeeding.
Ingredients
One vaginal tablet contains 500 mg of clotrimazole. One gram of cream contains 10 mg of clotrimazole. The excipients in the Canesten vaginal tablet are Calcium Lactate Pentahydrate, Crospovidone, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Lactose Monohydrate, Magnesium Stearate, Maize Starch, Hypromellose 2910/15, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Lactic Acid. The excipients in Canesten cream are Benzyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Octyldodecanol, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Purified Water.
Storage
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store at a temperature below 25°C. Do not use this product after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging after Use by:. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use.
