Materials and maintenance specifics

The jar itself has a ceramic body with a glazed surface. While you can safely put the ceramic container in the dishwasher, the wooden lid requires more gentle care. It is made from lacquered rubberwood and should be cleaned with a damp cloth only. After washing, let the lid dry in an upright position. Wood is sensitive to excessive moisture and temperature differences, which can cause it to warp, crack or discolour; this is not grounds for a complaint.
