ne, samotný Chipolo lokátor nezačne pípat v momentě, kdy ztratí spojení s telefonem. Lokátor je z hlediska energie navržen jako "pasivní" zařízení, které čeká na signál. Kdyby měl čip neustále monitorovat sílu signálu a sám vyhodnocovat odpojení, drasticky by to snížilo výdrž baterie. Navíc by vás mohl obtěžovat náhodným pípáním v kapse při každém krátkém výpadku Bluetooth (např. za zdí).
