Medical device, in vitro diagnostics, urine strips for urine analysis. HEPTAPHAN-Test is used to detect the presence of protein, glucose, ketones, urobilinogen, blood and urine pH.
Method of use
The HeptaPhan-Test is used to detect the presence of protein, glucose, ketones, urobilinogen, blood and urine pH. The test is carried outusing a strip that is dipped for 1-2 s into the urine sample. The test reading is taken after approximately 1 minute. The pH test is based on the reaction of a mixed acid-base indicator with a colour transition from orange to yellow to green to blue in the pH range 5-9. The pH value of the urine can be read to an accuracy of 0.5 pH units. The urobilinogen test is specific for urobilinogen and astercobilinogen. The reaction is not affected by urine pH. High concentrations of ascorbic acid can cause lower to false negative results
Notice
The urine sample must not be exposed to direct sunlight, which causes oxidation of urobilinogen and causes low to false negative results.
