The test is used for direct and qualitative detection of viral nucleoprotein antigens SARS-CoV-2 from nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal secretions. Detects SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens through visual interpretation of colour development . If a coloured band appears in the test area, the result is positive for SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens, if it does not appear, the result is negative. How to perform sampling
Nasopharyngeal swab (NP swab):
- Remove the swab from the package.
- Insert the stick into the nostril parallel to the palate and gently push it into the back of the nasopharynx. Rotation against the nasal wall (so that the tampon contains both cells and mucus).
- Process the sample as soon as possible after collection.
Oropharyngeal swab (OP swab) and throat swab:
- Remove the squeegee from the package.
- Insert the stick into the mouth up to the throat, centering on the red part of the throat wall and the maxillary tonsils, wiping the tonsils and the throat wall on both sides. Remove it from the throat and do not touch the tongue stick.
- Process the sample as soon as possible after collection.
For both types of collection, use only synthetic fiber rods with plastic stems. Swab specimens should be processed as soon as possible after collection, ideally using freshly collected specimens. Swab samples can be stored for 24 hours at 2-8 ° C after collection. Do not use samples that are obviously contaminated with blood to avoid skewing the result.
Instructions for use of the ECOTEST Rapid COVID-19 Ag test (test procedure)
- Before starting the test, all components of the test should have the same (room) temperature of 15 - 30 ° C. Just before testing, open the foil pouch, remove the test device, and place it on a flat, clean surface. Label the tube with the patient' s identification and perform the test within 1 hour.
- Gently mix the extraction buffer and add 10 drops to the tube.
- Insert the rod into the extraction tube. Mix and depress the swab 10 - 15 times by squeezing the tube. Allow to settle and wait 2 minutes.
- After removal, turn the rod head against the wall of the tube and expel as much fluid as possible from the wall of the tube.
- Insert the nozzle (dropper) into the tube, turn it upside down, and gently squeeze the tube to add 4 drops of solution to the well of the test plate.
- You can evaluate the result in 15 minutes.
