Emla 25 mg/g + 25 mg/g Cream 30g

EMLA contains two active substances called lidocaine and prilocaine. Both belong to a group of medicines called local anaesthetics. EMLA works by numbing the surface of the skin for a short time. It is applied to the skin before certain medical procedures. It helps to induce a temporary loss of sensation of pain on the skin, although you may still feel pressure or touch in this area.

💊 Use

Follow the instructions in the package leaflet or the instructions of your doctor or nurse. In some cases, the cream must only be applied by a doctor or nurse. The cream is applied for at least 60 minutes before the procedure (unless the cream is used on the genitals). The application time should not exceed 5 hours before the procedure. The cream is then covered with an occlusive dressing (plastic film). The dressing is removed just before the procedure itself. If you are applying the cream yourself, make sure you have received the dressing from your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.

🌿 Ingredients

The active substances are lidocaine 25mg and prilocaine 25mg in 1g of cream. The other ingredients are Carbomer 974 P, Macrogolglycerol Hydroxystearate, Sodium Hydroxide and Purified Water.

Read the package leaflet carefully. Do not use EMLA if you are allergic to lidocaine or prilocaine, similar local anaesthetics or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

📦 Storage

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not freeze. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
