The eye drops with the extract of safflower serve as a supportive treatment in disorders of tear production, in dry eye syndrome and to soothe the eyes in conjunctivitis of non-infectious origin, in case of eye irritation or long-term visual strain. Thanks to the tub, the solution can also be used for eye washes.

Occusept is an ophthalmologic, eye drops for the supportive treatment of human eye diseases. It is used for tear production disorders of various etiologies, dry eye syndrome of various etiologies, problems associated with the use of certain medications or external conditions (high temperature, wind, etc. ), to soothe the eyes in acute or chronic conjunctivitis (conjuctivitis) of non-infectious origin, in case of eye irritation due to external conditions (sun, dust, smoke, etc. ) or due to wearing contact lenses and prolonged visual strain. The solution can be used to rinse the eyes when they are affected by irritants and to remove foreign bodies.

Main components and their functions

The preparation is in the form of a low viscosity isotonic solution with Euphrasia officinalis (Safflower) extract and the lipid component LipoZoom. It does not contain cytotoxic preservatives (BAC), the preservative effect is provided by a combination of zinc sulfate and boric acid. The extract from the leaves of the safflower contains, among other substances, the iridoid aucubin, which has astringent (astringent) and antimicrobial effects. Hypromellose forms a protective film on the surface of the eye. Boric acid and sodium tetraborate have antifungal and antibacterial effects. Zinc sulphate is antimicrobial. The solution also contains the lipid component LipoZoom - a fraction of purified soy lecithin (phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine). These substances occur naturally in tears and improve the eye's protective film coverage - they extend the time the film is unbroken by forming a lipid layer that prevents evaporation and disruption of the continuous tear film. This significantly improves patient comfort in tear production disorders. Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid, in organisms it is the main component of lipid membranes. The source of phosphatidylcholine is mainly soybean, from which it is extracted together with lecithin and further isolated and purified by chromatographic techniques.
Dosing:
1-2 drops / 2-3 times a day. Dispense the product into the conjunctival sac. The product can also be used on a long-term basis as needed.
Storage:
Store at temperatures of 5-25 °C. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Keep in original packaging. Close tightly after use and store upright. After opening the vial, the product can be used for 30 days.
