From Kickdown mode to automatic door opening
Kickdown - automatic switching of driving mode:
When the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, the vehicle automatically switches from CHILL to SPORT (or PLAID, if available). Within 2 seconds, you'll know the power of your Tesla firsthand.
Door handle control:
Use the door handle to open the front trunk (frunk) or unlock/charge port. Just turn the handle of the front or rear door. Commander recognizes the action and takes the appropriate action.
Automatic door opening on approach:
The function automatically opens the driver's door when you approach the car with your phone set as the key. The sensitivity of the function can be adjusted according to the Bluetooth signal strength of your phone.
Switching off the automatic high beams and wipers:
When the autopilot is activated, the high beams and wipers are automatically switched on. With the Commander Gen2 unit, you can set the function to not turn them on when the autopilot is running. You can still switch on the main beam and wipers yourself as you wish. However, remember that the automatic high beams and wipers need the autopilot systems to function. You therefore use the forced shutdown action at your own risk.

Displays the recuperation level set and a percentage representation of the accelerator pedal force. Coloured indicators on the sides and bottom show which side you are flashing or whether the brake lights are on.

Installation by type of Tesla car
Tesla Model 3 and Model Y produced between 2019 and 2024:
For owners, there is a version with wiring for installation in the rear of the vehicle under the centre armrest between the seats. If you own a Model 3/Y from 2021+ or the new Model 3 Highland, the unit installs forward under the dash to the passenger door.
Tesla Model S and Model X:
A special configuration with matching wiring and fittings is available for owners, designed with the different internal wiring of the models in mind. It is installed in the front of the centre console under the main display.
Model Y Juniper:
It requires a new connector structure, so the manufacturer also offers a tailor-made bundle. It is installed in the front under the dashboard near the passenger door.
