Escapelle 1,5 mg 1 tablet
Escapelle is an emergency contraceptive that can be used within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or after failure of your usual method of contraception. It is available as a dispersible tablet that dissolves in the mouth.
Dosage and method of use
Dosing:
The tablet must be taken as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours, but no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.
Use:
Escapelle contains a synthetic hormone-like drug called levonorgestrel. It prevents conception in about 84% of expected pregnancies if used within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It probably acts by preventing the egg from being released from the ovary, preventing the sperm from fertilizing any egg that may have already been released.
