Fenistil – an essential part of your first-aid kit
Fenistil in drop form is an effective aid for fast relief from itchy and irritated skin. It is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as skin rash, itching, hay fever or other forms of allergic rhinitis. It is also suitable for infants from 1 month of age², and therefore should be an essential part of every home first-aid kit.

How do Fenistil drops work?
Fenistil blocks the effects of histamine, a substance the body releases during an allergic reaction. Fenistil relieves the itching and irritation caused by a skin rash, reduces swelling and relieves the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as a runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and itchy, watery eyes.

How to use Fenistil drops
Adults and adolescents over 12 years
20 to 40 drops 3× daily
For patients prone to drowsiness, the recommended dose is 40 drops at night and 20 drops in the morning.
Children
For infants 1 month to 1 year old, use only on a doctor's recommendation.
The recommended daily dose is 2 drops/kg of body weight/day, divided into 3 doses (e.g. 6 drops 3 times a day for an 8-month-old infant weighing 9kg).

Children 1 to 12 years
The recommended daily dose is 2 drops/kg of body weight/day, divided into 3 doses, (e.g. 8 drops 3 times a day for a 2-year-old child weighing 12kg).
What Fenistil contains
The active substance is dimetindene maleate. One ml of Fenistil drops contains 1mg of dimetindene maleate. The other ingredients are disodium phosphate dodecahydrate (E 339), citric acid monohydrate (E 330), benzoic acid (E 210), disodium edetate dihydrate (E 386), saccharin sodium (E 954), propylene glycol (E 1520), purified water.
Contraindications
Do not take Fenistil if you are allergic to the active substance dimetindene maleate or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Fenistil is not intended for children under 1 month of age. Fenistil in pregnancy: If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. If you are pregnant, only take Fenistil on your doctor's recommendation. The use of Fenistil during breastfeeding is not recommended.
