Fractal Define XL is the larger sibling of acclaimed and award-winning Define R3.As she has many interesting features and a very stylish look.Define XL is a specialist in quiet operation, and not neglect other important functions, such as cooling, expandability and ease of use.The cabinet is equipped with noise adsorbujícím dense material, a covered soft foam. This material effectively absorbs noise that produce components and fans inside the case.Quiet operation is supported by silicone pads in cages for mounting hard drives
An important feature of Fractal Define XL is a division into three separate chambers. The first one is the main chamber in the upper part containing most of the components such as motherboard, optical drive cage and the four hard drives. The main chamber is cooled by a single 140 mm fan in front and one 140 mm in the rear, which adds 180 mm fan at the top.Other fans, each user can optionally be equipped according to his needs. The top 180 mm fan is specially inclined, and thus blows hot air from the rear of the cabinet. The main chamber is connected to a second temperature chamber at the bottom, provided with a removable divider, which you can remove if you want to turn up the fan source for sucking air from the main chamber.Standard and recommended configuration but with the lid closed, the source sucks air from the bottom of the cabinet through an integrated filter.
The third chamber is located below the first cage for hard disks and consists of the department for six hard drives. It can be cooled with an optional 140 mm fan in the front.By default, the heated air drives the side panel to the rear of the cabinet and then out.But you can also remove metal dividing panel between the lower chambers of the HDD and resources and let air flow through the source and back vents.Another unique feature cabinets Fractal Define XL ModuVent patented feature that allows you to choose whether to have the side panel closed with a cover of insulating material, or it will place the fan. This is ideal for people looking for silence, as well as those who hunger for power.Besides all these features, Fractal Define XL excellent cable management options, with large holes and comfortable room for cables behind the motherboard.Holes for cables fitted with silicone covers, effectively hiding their volumes.Part of the cabinet is also fan controller, which can be mounted in the expansion slot at the rear. With him you will be able to control up to three fans, one knob.
