Psyllium refers to the seed coat of the Indian plantain (Plantago ovata). Psyllium is a de facto soluble fibre that has the unique ability to absorb water, gain significant volume and form a gel-like structure that benefits the intestines by softening the stool and increasing its volume. This aids correct and easy emptying. Stool density can be regulated by psyllium depending on the volume of liquid added. A larger volume of added liquid helps with constipation, while a smaller amount will regulate very thin stools.
Why psyllium?
Consumption of psyllium is also suitable for weight loss, to promote proper fat metabolism and for low-carbohydrate diets. Psyllium is also recommended for people with metabolic syndrome and cardiac patients. Psyllium Galmed has a high purity, proven by tests on the degree of swelling, which is related to the cleaning of the seed coats from the seeds themselves, which are undesirable impurities and aggravate swelling.

Recommended dosage
1-2 teaspoons (2.5-5 g) of Psyllium stir in the morning, if necessary. and in the evening in 250 ml of water (can be flavored) and thoroughly drink another cup of liquid - water, herbal tea, fruit juice, etc. It is best taken fasting at least 30 minutes before meals. The maximum daily dose is 5 teaspoons, i.e. 12,5 g. Psyllium can also be used in soups, sauces, yoghurt, as part of muesli, etc.
