Mouse Pad Types

Classic Mouse Pads

Classic mouse pads are the most common type you can find on the market. These are suitable for everyday home and office use. They are usually made of fabric and rubber.

Gaming Mouse Pads

Gaming mouse pads tend to feature bold colours, unique visual designs, and excellent anti-slip properties. These pads use special materials to achieve high accuracy and optimal mouse control. In addition to fabric, they can also be made of silicone, various types of plastics, and aviation aluminium or glass.

Ergonomic Mouse Pads

A typical example of this type is a gel mouse pad with a wrist support. Some pads include memory foam instead of gel. Both types of ergonomic mouse pads relieve pressure on the wrist and protect you from RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury), which can result in carpal tunnel syndrome, for example. We would recommend them to everyone who spends 8 or more hours a day at the computer.

Key Parameters When Choosing a Mouse Pad

Dimensions

Small mouse pads - up to 400 × 300mm, suitable for home use and on smaller office desks.
Large mouse pads - suitable for professionals such as graphic designers, but also for gamers.
Mouse + keyboard pads - their ergonomic design makes it easier to type and work with the mouse. The pads have various reinforcements and wrist supports. Some of them are gaming themed, making them a popular accessory for people fond of computer games.

Material

Each material has different properties and appearance, and the choice is largely a matter of personal preference. Consider what material you find comfortable. Some like a soft rubber surface with a textile coating, others may prefer a hard surface with a smooth aluminium finish. See below for a short list of individual materials and their key properties.

Fabric and Rubber

The most commonly used material with a good price-quality ratio.
The face side of the pad is made of fabric, while the rest is rubber.
Sticks well to the desk surface and provides good mouse accuracy.

Silicone

Easy to maintain, can be rinsed with water.
Great for travel - the pad can be easily rolled up and packed into a bag.
Adheres very well to the surface, reduces friction, and increases mouse accuracy.

Artificial Leather

Stylish pads that look like real leather.
Elegant and classy, they are suitable for stylish offices.

Synthetics - PVC, Polymer, Polycarbonate and Plastic

Durable material that targets mainly gamers and is designed to maximise aiming accuracy.
Plastic and hard pads generally have a higher glide speed and make the mouse significantly more sensitive.

Special Materials - Aviation Aluminium and Glass

Premium and highly durable materials for high-end gaming setups.

Design
