The sophisticated voice control of the navigation provides a more comfortable and, above all, safer setting of any changes during your journey, so you can fully focus on driving. In addition, the GPS has a built-in camera that offers a number of security features.

Key features

• Lifelong free updates of 45 maps of Europe will ensure that you will never get lost
• The built-in camera will provide you with greater security
• For added safety during navigation, it can be controlled by voice
• The integrated RDS-TMC traffic information receiver alerts you to any complications on the road
• The Real Direction feature lets you precisely direct where you need to go
• The Foursquare database provides information about popular shops, restaurants, and hotels
• After linking the navigation with the app Smartphone Link, you get more accurate traffic information
• Smart notifications show information about incoming calls, SMS messages and other notifications on the navigation display

A built-in camera for your safety

Road events ahead of you will be captured by a built-in front camera that not only provides video footage but also measures the distance of your car from the one ahead of you. The navigation also alerts you if there is a risk of collision or when you are out of the lane. All records of your ride are stored on the microSD card included in the package. Many navigation devices are not as accurate as you need them to be. The navigation by Garmin will take care of this problem with the Real Direction function, which uses turn-by-turn landmarks such as buildings, traffic lights, or other prominent places when providing turn-by-turn information. When driving, you'll also appreciate lane sorting help, photorealistic previews of crossroads or speed alerts.

A Foursquare database

The device also uses the information from the Foursquare database. With it, you will get an overview of millions of popular stores, restaurants, hotels or other businesses. By linking the navigation with the Smartphone Link app on your phone, you'll even find user ratings, service prices, or opening hours for your selected shops. If you encounter a new business that is not in the database, you can add it to Foursquare after you register. A very practical feature of this model is also the integrated RDS-TMC Traffic Information Receiver, which searches for traffic announcements to alert the driver if there are any complications on the road. If there is time to avoid the complications, the navigation will offer a more appropriate route.

Current traffic information

You can connect the device to your phone via Bluetooth. By linking the navigation with the Smartphone Link mobile app for Android and iOS, you'll get more current and more reliable traffic information. These will appear on your display and will be considered when designing the optimal route to the destination. The app also provides a weather forecast, or you can search for a destination on your phone and send it wirelessly to the navigation. In order to stay focused on your car without having to reach for the phone whenever someone calls you, the manufacturer has equipped the navigation with Smart Notifications. This allows you to display incoming calls, SMS messages, or other notifications from your phone when it is connected to your phone.
