GS Mamatest Comfort Pregnancy Test

A fast and reliable pregnancy test
You can perform the GS Mamatest Comfort test yourself. It detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which appears in urine very early in pregnancy. It can reliably detect pregnancy from the first day of a missed period. You can perform the test at any time of the day. However, the first morning urine is the most suitable as it contains the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone, if you are pregnant. You will appreciate its easy and hygienic use in your urine stream. The test can also be performed by dipping the absorbent tip into a container of urine.
Pregnancy test benefits
- High sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml
- You can test at any time of the day
- Certainty in under 3 minutes
- Convenient to use directly in the urine stream
How does the GS Mamatest Comfort work?
Any urine sample can be used to detect pregnancy, but the first morning urine is the most suitable as it contains the highest concentration of hCG. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the placenta and excreted into the urine shortly after fertilisation. The pregnancy test contains antibodies that specifically react with this hormone. After placing the test stick in the urine stream or in a container of urine, the absorbed urine travels up the membrane. Once the urine containing hCG reaches the test area on the membrane, a coloured line will appear. The absence of this line indicates a negative result. If the test is performed correctly, a coloured line will appear in the control area (this is to check that the test has been performed correctly).
Performing the test
- Open the pouch by tearing along the notch and remove the test stick.
- Hold the round end of the test stick with one hand. With the other hand, remove the cap from the absorbent tip at the opposite end.
- Hold the test stick with the absorbent tip pointing downwards. Begin to urinate. Place the absorbent tip in the urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Do not urinate outside the marked area. (See the illustration.) You can also collect urine in the clean cap or a clean, dry container and immerse half of the absorbent pad in the urine for at least 3 seconds.
- Replace the cap and wait for the coloured lines to appear. A positive result can be observed in as little as 1 minute, but to confirm a negative result, you must wait 3 minutes for the reaction to complete. Do not read the test result after 5 minutes.
Reading the results
- Negative result (you are not pregnant): Only one coloured line has appeared, in the control area (C). No coloured line is visible in the test area (T). This means that pregnancy has not been confirmed by the test.
- Positive result (you are pregnant): Two distinct coloured lines have appeared in both the control (C) and test (T) areas. This means you are pregnant. The colour intensity of the line in the test area depends on the concentration of hCG, which changes during pregnancy.
- Invalid result: If the test was not performed correctly, no coloured line appeared, or a line appeared only in the test area (T) but not in the control area (C). Repeat the test with a new kit. If the test result is repeatedly invalid, please contact the manufacturer or seller. Remember to provide the batch number.
Limitations
- As with any diagnostic procedure, pregnancy should be confirmed by a doctor, who will perform the necessary clinical and laboratory examinations.
- A urine sample that is too dilute may not contain a sufficient concentration of hCG to produce a positive result. If you still think you might be pregnant, collect a new urine sample and re-test after at least 48 hours.
- In the very early stages of pregnancy, you may get a false negative test result because the concentration of hCG in the urine sample is too low. In this case, collect a new urine sample and re-test after at least 48 hours.
- In addition to pregnancy, elevated hCG levels can also be caused by certain medical conditions. If your doctor has not ruled out these conditions, the detected presence of hCG in the urine sample (a positive test result) cannot be considered confirmation of pregnancy.
- A pregnancy test cannot distinguish between an ectopic pregnancy and a normal pregnancy. A distorted test result can also be caused by a spontaneous miscarriage.
- Fertility treatment based on hCG administration can also distort the test result. In such a case, consult the result with your doctor.
- This test is for qualitative analysis. It is not intended for the quantitative determination of hCG concentration.
- The product is only suitable for testing human urine.
- A contaminated urine sample or the presence of interfering substances may lead to incorrect results.
- Contamination of the product or improper handling may also cause an incorrect result.
