Opar
Herpes is an infectious disease caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), which is normally depositedin the nerve endings in the lips and surrounding tissues. It is not the same virus that provokesgenital herpetic infections. The first infection usually occurs in childhood, probably by kissing an infected person. The virus travels through the skin along nerve pathways to their endings. The triggering mechanism for the symptoms of infection after the first occurrence can be variousstimuli: common cold, the flu, menstruation, psychological burden, stress, physical stress, excessive tanning or condition, when you're not feeling well. After the stress stimulus, the virus travels back along the nerve pathways to the skin around the lips and causes the formation of a cold sore.
Remember that herpes is infectious:
- the virus can infect other parts of your body; to reduce the risk of transmission of infection, do not touch the herpes (with a towel, etc. );
- Wash your hands before and after each touch of the haze;
- use your own towel;
- don't touch your eyes; HSV infection in the eye can lead to corneal ulceration;
- avoid kissing during the period when you are suffering from herpes, especially do not kiss children;
- avoid oral sex;
- avoid blistering and scab removal; you could become infected with other germs or transmit the virus on your fingers;
- make sure that no one uses unwashed dishes from which you have drunk or eaten to prevent transmission of infection.
