EGO Battery 56V, 12 Ah BA6720T

The Li-ion BA6720T battery is made up of three layers of the latest generation Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) cells, with a total capacity of 12.0Ah and a voltage of 56V, which guarantees high and long-lasting performance. Its capacity and usable energy place it at the very top of its battery category on the market. There are only a few manufacturers of Li-ion cells in the world (Sony, Samsung, Panasonic), and they are all essentially as alike as two peas in a pod. All cordless tool manufacturers buy these cells from the same suppliers; it's up to them how they arrange and assemble the individual cells. This is important for optimising cell cooling and harnessing their full potential.

Battery shape and arrangement

The patented EGO Power+ 56V Arc design ensures perfect cooling and temperature balance across the entire battery, both during operation and charging. The 'Arc' shape of the battery and cell arrangement—in an arc or portal shape—is a more ingenious solution for ensuring cooling air reaches every single cell compared to the usual 'brick' battery shape, where individual electric cells are arranged side-by-side and in rows on top of each other. This design places each cell as close as possible to the battery casing, providing a larger cooling surface and allowing heat to dissipate from the cells more easily.

Battery monitoring and management

Even the battery's power delivery is under control. The EGO Power+ 56V Arc lithium battery is continuously monitored and managed by software and microprocessors in the control unit, known as the 'balancer', inside the battery. This intelligent balancer constantly monitors and optimises each cell individually, so you always get maximum power and run time. The BA6720T battery has a usable energy of 672Wh and is compatible with all EGO cordless tools, including professional-grade models. It must be charged using an intelligent charger from the EGO range. The battery status is constantly monitored and displayed by LED indicator lights. Due to its weight, the battery is primarily intended for wheeled lawn mowers or for powering handheld equipment when used with a backpack battery carrier for truly professional applications.
