The EGO CS1810E chainsaw cuts firewood, fells small to medium-sized trees, and helps with carpentry work on construction sites. The saw uses a brushless motor powered by a 56V battery. Operating Modes
The device offers a choice between two speed modes: ECO and MAX. ECO mode reduces the power to an economical level, saving energy in the battery when cutting thinner and softer woods. MAX mode, on the other hand, uses full power for demanding cuts into thicker logs up to 45cm in diameter. The user changes modes by pressing a button on the control panel.
Design and Ergonomics
The saw's design has been modified, reducing the total weight by almost 1kg. The balance of the saw makes it easier to handle for both vertical and horizontal cuts, ensuring a high level of comfort. The rear handle includes a safety lock-off for immediate motor shutdown when the grip is released, increasing safety. The control handle provides a stable grip when working in the forest or garden.
Safety Features
Operator safety is enhanced by a mechanical chain brake, which instantly stops rotation in the event of a kickback. The trigger switch on the main handle activates a smooth, gradual start-up without any jerky movements. A display above the handle indicates the active status of the brake and the selected operating mode. The safety lock-off on the handle switches the machine off as soon as the hand's grip is released. The measured acoustic power is 102dB and the vibration values are 4.4/4.3m/sec².
Lubrication and Tensioning System
The oil pump automatically dispenses lubricant directly into the guide groove of the 45cm bar. The oil tank has a capacity of 200ml and the user can check its level through the transparent oil inspection window on the side of the saw. The saw chain only requires manual adjustment without the use of additional tools. The user can therefore perform the correct tensioning directly on the job site.
Integrated Lighting and Display
At the front of the body is a built-in LED headlight that directs a beam of light directly onto the material being cut. This feature helps with carpentry work in dark corners of buildings or in low light. The control panel with LCD display clearly shows the activated functions, the selected speed and whether the light is on. The display also includes an indicator for the chain brake. The lighting facilitates precise work in enclosed spaces with low light.
Battery Power and Compatibility
The saw works with all 56V lithium-ion batteries from the EGO Power+ range. A 2.5Ah battery is sufficient for up to 110 cuts. With a 5Ah capacity, the number of cuts increases to 270, and with a 10Ah capacity, it can handle up to 540 cuts. The battery is placed in an external holder where it is naturally cooled by air.
