HEISSNER Pressure filtration set HLF4000-00

The HLF4000-00 is fully equipped with a powerful adjustable filter pump (transporting dirt up to 4 mm grain size), a UV lamp (7 watts) against algae formation and a 3 m (19 mm) connecting hose. Thanks to the easy-to-use backwash system with quick-cleaning mechanism with crank handle, cleaning the filter is a breeze in seconds. There is no need to open the filter system and the impurities are discharged through the side outlet of the filter. Thanks to the fact that it is a pressure filtration, it is possible to feed a stream or waterfall. Ideal filter system for ponds up to 4,000 l (without fish) and for ponds up to 2,000 l (with fish).

Advice and tips

The pump at the filtration should run continuously. If the pump operation is interrupted, the bacteria settled in the filter inserts, which serve for biological cleaning of the pond, will die. A constant supply of oxygen and irrigation is needed. Here, the emphasis is always on low consumption of the pond pump. Conversely, the UV lamp should not be run 24 hours a day to avoid killing the bacteria needed for biological cleaning.
In the months from May to September it is recommended to switch on the UV lamp according to the degree of water pollution (visibility) - 20 cm for 24 hours, 60 cm for 10 hours, 30 cm for 22 hours, 70 cm for 5 hours, 40 cm for 20 hours, 80 cm for 3 hours, 50 cm for 15 hours, > 80 cm - switch off.
From October to April, UV lamp operation is generally not required.
When using the UV lamp for the first time, switch it on max. for 4 h per day to prevent rapid oxygen depletion in the water caused by algae death. Approximately 1 W of UV lamp power is calculated per 1000 l of water volume. When choosing a filtration system, not only pay attention to the volume of water in the pond, but if you plan to fish you must double the volume.
Important rule: The maximum number of fish is determined by the sum of their lengths; 20 cm of fish per 1000 l of water is recommended.
