Primalex silicone primer 1 l

Primalex silicone primer is a facade penetrating agent designed for silicone coatings and plasters. Thanks to its formulation, it penetrates and works deep into the substrate, which it strengthens and unifies. At the same time, it contains hydrophobizing ingredients that increase resistance to water penetration and thus support the effectiveness of the final finishes. Facade deep-acting penetrating agent designed to impregnate absorbent, not yet painted mature substrates such as masonry, concrete, aerated concrete, lime and lime-cement plaster, fibre cement and particleboard, but also solid old dispersion, silicone and silicate coatings. It is also suitable for wood, particleboard, unglazed ceramics, roofing and other porous substrates that are to be coated with prescribed coatings with increased resistance to water penetration.

Preparation of the substrate

Thoroughly cover all surfaces and equipment that are not to be soiled. Surfaces to be primed must generally be solid, dry, clean, free of impurities, waxes, grease and penetration of repellent particles. It is primarily recommended for full or local penetration on new mineral substrates on facades and exteriors (lime, lime-cement, etc. remedial plaster) - must be sufficiently hardened and dry, mature min. 4 weeks. Cohesive layers of facade dispersion paints and older elastic coatings (incl. cracks). Wash original, chalking paint or otherwise contaminated surfaces with a high-pressure cleaner. When repairing cracks, it is necessary to perfectly remove any peeling old paint in their vicinity. Larger cracks should be repaired with a suitable acrylic sealant. Non-cohesive layers of facade dispersion paints (incl. cracks and significant plaster defects) - remove non-adhesive coatings or parts of them without residue by sanding, brushing, scraping or scraping. by a stream of pressurised water. After wet cleaning, let the surfaces dry sufficiently before further treatment. Masonry repairs (e.g. in the case of more extensive plaster loss) in the classic way, larger cracks should be repaired with a suitable acrylic sealant (masonry must be mature min. 4 weeks). Contaminated substrates (e.g. infested with mould, algae or otherwise contaminated) - Remove mould, algae or fungi from infested areas by wet mechanical means (e.g. by scraping, scrubbing or wiping). Treat the surfaces with Primalex Façade Cleaner (always follow the instructions on the product) or Primalex Façade Cleaner. with another suitable disinfectant. Subsequently, in this case, use Primalex Fungicidal Primer instead of Universal Primer for the base treatment.

Penetration preparation and application

Due to the content of sedimenting micropigments, the penetration in the packaging should be mixed thoroughly before and during application. Calculate the required amount of penetration from the area of the single surface and the average yield data. Apply Primalex silicone penetrant evenly on properly prepared substrates at temperatures between 5 and 25 °C and at humidity levels of >30% and <80% (for facades under suitable microclimatic conditions, i.e. do not paint in strong sunlight (or shade the facade), in the rain, strong wind or humidity >80%), usually in 1 layer (in the case of, that the substrate is not perfectly hardened after the primer has dried, Repeat the coating - at intervals of about 4 hours) with a paint brush or roller to obtain the required surface quality. Weathered, highly porous and unstable substrates should be wet-penetrated as soon as the first layer has been absorbed by the surface. The penetration must soak into the substrate and not leave a glossy film on the surface, so it is advisable to carry out a practical test on a selected small area. The facade coating can be applied after the primer has dried, i.e. after about 4 to 12 hours depending on the climatic conditions. During this time, the foamed areas must be protected from rain. The coating can be applied after the primer has dried, i.e. after approx. 4 - 12 hrs. It is necessary to wash the drips and soiled aids with water before drying.

Storage:
Store at temperature 5 °C to 35 °C. It must not freeze. When stored in the prescribed manner in a sealed container, the product retains its useful properties at least until the date indicated on the packaging (i.e. 36 months).
Colour:
Milky when wet, transparent when dry
Drying time:
Penetration is dry to the touch after about 2 hours. The next layer can be applied after 4 hours at the earliest (data valid for one layer of primer at 20 °C, relative humidity 50%). Lowering the temperature or increasing the humidity can increase drying times.
Safety Alert:
Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with Primalex Silicone Primer. It is recommended to protect your eyes with goggles with side shields. Rinse mouth with water if swallowed. If the eyes are affected, flush them with a stream of water. Seek medical attention if you have persistent problems. After washing, treat the skin with a regenerating cream. P101 - If medical attention is required, keep the product packaging or label handy. P102 - Keep out of reach of children.
