Functional properties of peelable paint

The biggest advantage of peelable paint is that it can be removed. Once you’ve decided to make a change, simply lift the edge of the fabric (including the white backing) and pull it off in one piece. The original paintwork underneath remains unchanged. From a maintenance perspective, it is recommended that you use gentle, pH-neutral shampoos on neon shades to ensure the colour retains its vibrancy for as long as possible.
Certified peelable paint provides comprehensive protection:
Visual dominance: extreme brightness, which really stands out in low light and in direct sunlight.
Mechanical barrier: effectively absorbs the impact of flying stones and protects the underlying paintwork.
Chemical resistance: resistance to road salt, asphalt and chemicals used in winter maintenance.
Warning:
Neon pigments are, by their very nature, semi-transparent. To achieve a rich and vibrant neon finish, it is essential to apply a white base coat (Racer Dip Alpine White is recommended). Without a white base coat, the neon colour will not be vivid enough and the final shade will be heavily influenced by the original colour of the substrate.
Technological process:
Thanks to its unique composition, it has Peelable paint with excellent self-levelling properties. With neon shades, however, preparation is key:
1. Surface decontamination: The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of grease and dirt. The manufacturer recommends using isopropyl alcohol, which ensures maximum adhesion of the paint to the substrate.
2. White base (key step): Apply 2–3 coats of white peelable paint (Alpine White) until the original surface is completely covered.
3. Neon layering: Apply 4 to 6 coats of Neon Yellow to a dry white base. The more layers you apply, the richer and more durable the resulting neon film will be.
4. Curing: Full mechanical strength is achieved after 24 hours.
Recommendations and maintenance:
Neon colours have lower opacity. If you were to spray it directly onto a black or dark disc, the resulting shade would be dark olive, not neon. The white colour acts as a reflector, bouncing light back through the neon layer and giving it the right brightness. Racer Dip is inert with respect to the base coat. Once dry, a flexible rubber barrier remains between the varnish and the paint, which does not bond chemically with the surface. Once peeled off, the varnish remains in its original condition. When applied correctly, it lasts for 2 to 4 years. Neon pigments are more sensitive to UV light than standard paints, so it is recommended that you apply a sufficient number of coats to ensure longer colour fastness. You can wash your car with a pressure washer from a distance of about 30 cm. Just avoid aggressive solvent- and petrol-based cleaners, which could damage the rubber surface.

2 Racer Dip Alpine white (as a base coat)
3 to 4 tubes of Racer Dip Neon Yellow (for the final colour and thickness)
