Connection via radio waves, control via Android and iOS app in Czech, English and other languages. It works on the principle of innovative optical technology of infrared light barrier in combination with the HmIP-HAP Central Unit.

The mobile app enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all Homematic IP devices via a free, unlimited cloud that allows you to set up and control the system from anywhere in the world, transfer important information and update the software and firmware of the devices, and forward configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app to individual smart home devices.
Innovative detection technology and concealed housing concept
The sensor does not work on the conventional magnetic contact principle and no additional magnet attachments are required for its functionality, which greatly simplifies installation. The integrated optical infrared light barrier technology reliably detects an open/closed window or door. Compared to the HmIP-SWDO model, the HmIP-SWDO-I model has a larger tray for 2 AAA batteries (100% longer operating time) and a housing concept for hidden mounting in the window/door frame profile.
Within the Homematic IP system, the Plus sensor takes on several tasks simultaneously.
Smart alarm functions of the optical window and door sensor
In security mode, by activating the optical sensor, the system immediately performs a preconfigured operation. The Homematic IP mobile app provides you with up-to-date information on the security status of your smart home system, giving you a sense of security and safety when you leave home, whether you're on the move or anywhere else. In addition, your home or office can be even safer if your security solution includes the HmIP-ASIR-2 indoor siren or the HmIP-ASIR-O outdoor siren. In this case, if the protection of the guarded area is breached, a loud alarm sound is automatically triggered.
Smart heating control features help you reduce expensive energy costs
Fresh air without wasting energy, this is the combination of the HmIP-SWDO-I wireless optical sensor with the HmIP-eTRV Homematic IP radiator thermostatic controllers. If a window or door is opened for ventilation, the room temperature is automatically lowered. The degree of temperature reduction can even be defined by the user in the Homematic IP mobile app. When the window or door is closed, the heating is activated again until the room temperature is back to the pre-configured level. In this efficient way, you can control the room temperature and the heating or air conditioning process according to your individual needs, resulting in immediate savings and a reduction of up to 30% in your energy costs.
Protection in case of sabotage
If an intruder gets to the sensor, the tamper contact reliably detects the tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection. If your smart home security solution includes a Homematic IP siren (outdoor or indoor), the siren will remain in alarm mode in the event of sabotage or destruction of the HmIP-HAP Central Unit.

Wireless communication and battery operation offer the possibility of simple installation without the need for cabling. 3M adhesive tapes or screws and dowels are included for hassle-free installation of the fixings at the selected location. A minimum distance of 15 mm between the frame and the sash is required for installation.
