Multirole fighter aircraft
The F-4S Phantom II "Black Bunny" is an exceptional supersonic multi-role fighter aircraft that has made aviation history. The most famous use of the rabbit symbol comes from the US Navy's VX-4 Air Test and Evaluation Squadron, which operated out of NAS Point Mugu, California. Perutia specialized in operational testing of advanced aircraft systems and it was on their aircraft that the characteristic rabbit head silhouette on the vertical tail surfaces appeared. The black colouring of the aircraft and the contrasting white emblem made the "Black Bunny" one of the most iconic machines of its time.
