Rotating tourbillon as the heart of the watch

A distinctive feature of the functional and beautiful wooden table clock model is the rotating tourbillon, which is located on the top. In wrist and pocket watches, the tourbillon mechanism helps to increase accuracy by counteracting gravity when the watch is at rest. By placing the detent and balance wheel in a rotating cage, small errors in the timing caused by gravity are averaged out. In table and wall clocks, the tourbillon often serves more decorative purposes. This applies to the Sky Watcher Tourbillon table clock from Ugears, where the tourbillon sphere is stylized in the form of a large observatory with a telescope scanning the celestial sphere, such as on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Perhaps it is creating a map of the sky, conducting infrared studies, or perhaps searching for new planets or signs of intelligent life.

Triple rotating mechanism and original time display

The Sky Watcher movement with tourbillon has three axes of rotation - around the vertical axis of the watch, the horizontal axis of the watch and relative to the central axis of the inner sphere. The winding clock works by accumulating potential energy in a flat spring and releasing this energy in a measured manner. When the model is fully wound, it can power the watch for about 2-3 hours, which is enough for a long time to observe the hypnotizing mechanism or to enjoy the pleasant sound background of the ticking of the clock and the visual distraction during work or rest. Instead of the all-too-common dial with hands, another interesting feature has been created by placing the time display on discs. The minute disc rotates continuously with the progression of the tourbillon, while the hour disc marks the passage of time with a percussive mechanism.
