Ibuprofen Galmed 400 mg 30 tablets

Ibuprofen Galmed contains the medicinal substance ibuprofen, which belongs to the group of so-called. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It prevents the formation of tissue effectors, so-called. prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation and are released at the site of tissue damage. Ibuprofen relieves pain and inflammation of various origins, especially in diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Ibuprofen also suppresses fever that accompanies e.g. colds. Ibuprofen Galmed is used to reduce fever, to treat mild to moderate pain, e.g. headaches, including migraines, back pain, teeth, postoperative pain, pain in soft tissue injuries, such as a bruise or sprain, for muscle and joint pain accompanying flu-like illnesses, for painful menstruation, in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the joints and spine (arthritis and arthrosis) accompanied by pain, redness, swelling and joint stiffness, the product should only be used on the advice of a doctor.
The product is intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age with a body weight over 40 kg due to the amount of the active substance in one tablet. For children aged 6-12 years, a preparation containing 200 mg of ibuprofen is suitable, for children under 6 years of age, ibuprofen in suspension is indicated. If you do not feel better within 3-5 days (up to 3 days for adolescents) or if you feel worse, you must consult a doctor. If a teenager is taking Ibuprofen Galmed, he or she must always see a doctor after just 3 days of treatment.

Dosage and method of use

Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age (weighing ≥ 40 kg):
For the treatment of acute painful conditions and fever, the recommended daily dose is 400 mg once or 3 times a day at 4-6 hour intervals. The maximum daily dose is 1200 mg. Dosage depends on age and body weight. The maximum single dose is 400 mg of ibuprofen. A higher single dose does not have a better analgesic effect. If adolescents need to take the medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted. For rheumatic diseases, the recommended daily dose is in the range of 1200-2400 mg in 3-4 sub-doses. Doses are generally higher in inflammatory forms of the disease than in degenerative forms. The total daily dose of 2400 mg is not to be exceeded.

Contraindications

Do not take Ibuprofen Galmedif you are allergic to the drug or to any other ingredient in this medicine. If you are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid or other anti-inflammatory medicines (hypersensitivity may manifest as bronchial asthma, hives, swelling or runny nose). If you have an active stomach or duodenal ulcer or bleeding from these organs (or if you have had repeated ulcers or bleeding in the past). If you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation (puncture) caused by treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If you have an increased tendency to bleed or active bleeding.
If you suffer from severe heart failure. If you suffer from severe liver failure. If you have severe kidney failure (glomerular filtration rate less than 30 ml/min). If you suffer from significant dehydration (caused by e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea, insufficient fluid intake or after surgery). The product must not be used by women in the last three months of pregnancy (only on the advice of a doctor can it be used by women in the first six months of pregnancy and breastfeeding women).

Storage

Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use Ibuprofen Galmed after the expiry date stated on the box or blister for Use by: or EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month specified. This medicine does not require any special storage conditions. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
