The Icy Box IB-1920M-C42 external enclosure lets you create fast portable storage from your M.2 NVMe SSD. Thanks to the USB4® interface, it achieves transfer speeds of up to 40Gbit/s, which means transferring a 10GB file takes less than 7 seconds. The sturdy body is made from a combination of aluminium and plastic, where the aluminium acts as a passive heatsink to dissipate heat. Installing the drive is easy and requires no tools. The enclosure is compatible with both Windows and macOS and supports Plug and Play.

Design and quick installation

The enclosure's body combines durable plastic with an aluminium cover that serves as a passive heatsink. The package also includes a thermal pad, which improves contact between the drive and the aluminium part. This solution helps maintain the optimal operating temperature of the SSD, even under heavy load. Installing the drive is very simple and, thanks to the Toolless system, is completely tool-free. Just open the cover, insert the M.2 drive and secure it. The enclosure is ready to use immediately thanks to its Plug and Play functionality.
