Imodium® 2 mg hard capsules offer a solution and are used for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. Effective within 1 hour, taking a single dose of 4 mg. The capsules are well tolerated, contain the medicinal substance loperamide hydrochloride, which is recommended as the first choice in the treatment of diarrhea.

What are the most common causes of acute diarrhea?
Diarrhoea is described as an alteration of normal bowel peristalsis and is usually defined by the occurrence of three or more acute thin and watery stools in one day. Try to stop diarrhea immediately and prevent dehydration of your body!

Use of Imodium 2 mg
Adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age:
Patients with ileostomies:the initial dose is two capsules (4 mg) per day for adults and adolescents and one capsule (2 mg) per day for children; this initial dose should be adjusted until 1-2 solid stools per day are achieved, which is usually achieved with a maintenance dose of 1-6 capsules (2-12 mg) per day. The maximum dose for acute and chronic diarrhoea and for patients with ileostomies is 8 capsules (16 mg) per day for adults; for children and adolescents, the dose should be determined in relation to body weight (3 capsules/20 kg), but should not exceed 8 capsules per day.
Notice
If clinical improvement in acute diarrhea does not occur within 48 hours, loperamide hydrochloride should be discontinued and the patient should be advised to seek medical attention. Over-the-counter medicine. Read the full package leaflet carefully before taking this medicine.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. After the first opening, the product can only be used for 1 year. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and bottle after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
Ingredients
The active substance is loperamidium hydrochloridum 2 mg in one capsule. Excipients are: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate. The top of the capsule: Gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), indigo carmine (E132), yellow iron oxide (E172). The bottom of the capsule: Gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), indigo carmine (E132), black iron oxide (E172), erythrosine sodium (E127).
