Dive Buddy
The Insta360 Dive Buddy underwater mount acts as your "underwater camera team" and allows for fully hands-free shooting with 360° cameras without having to hold the device. It makes it easy to capture smooth shots from an underwater perspective and provides an easier way to capture every moment underwater.
Hands-free underwater shooting
It allows you to shoot without holding the camera or assisting the photographer - just attach a 360° camera and get stable "floating" shots from the perfect angle. The result is a more natural and fluid underwater image.
Stable swimming up to 50 m
By adjusting the weight plates and handle position, neutral buoyancy can be achieved for stable camera movement. This allows smooth and balanced shots up to 50 m without unwanted movement.
Filming
An integrated tripod allows anchoring to the seabed so you can shoot marine life up close without disturbing it.
Secure attachment
The bottom 1/4" thread can be completed with the included shoulder strap to ensure safe use underwater and minimize the risk of losing the device.
Manual
The Dive Buddy consists of a main body, handle, weight plates, 1/4" mounting point, wrist strap and underwater tripod. The design allows for buoyancy adjustment and stable mounting for underwater shooting.
- Vertical underwater suspension
- Before entering the water
- Adjust the number of weight plates and adjust the handle position according to the desired buoyancy. Next, attach the wrist strap to the bottom 1/4" thread and make sure everything is securely locked in place.
- After entering the water
- Put on the wrist strap and hold the Dive Buddy in your hand while diving. Then release it and observe its buoyancy. If it is neutral, no adjustment is needed. If it is rising, turn the handle upwards, if it is falling, turn it downwards. Remove the wrist strap when the correct position is reached.
- Important notice
- When adjusting underwater, do not turn the handle below the red mark No. 3, as water could enter the device. If this happens, surface, unscrew the handle and drain the water before further use.
- Always shake the device before diving to remove air bubbles that could affect buoyancy.
- Slanted static positioning
- Attach the underwater tripod to the 1/4" thread on the Dive Buddy, unfold the stabilizing fin and tripod. This configuration allows for stable inclined positioning on the seabed.
- Vertical static positioning
- Attach the underwater tripod to the 1/4" thread, unfold the tripod and fold the stabilizing fin down. This gives you a stable vertical position for shooting on the bottom.
Important notes on use
The maximum waterproof depth of this product is 50 m (164 ft). The accessory is compatible with Insta360 X3, X4 and X5 cameras and requires a matching waterproof case; Compatibility may be continuously expanding, so it is recommended to check the current list at the official store. When using underwater, take extra care with currents and water movement, and always use the wrist strap when idle to avoid losing the camera. After use in seawater, the accessories should be rinsed in clean water and allowed to soak for at least 15 minutes, then dried thoroughly with a soft cloth to prevent corrosion. Store the product in a dry and well-ventilated place. Avoid dropping and bumping into hard objects, which can cause damage and affect functionality during underwater use.
