J. T. O. System Gofl gas detector
Detector J. T. O. The Gofl is an instrument designed to detect the leakage of flammable gases into the air in a normal environment. Its main advantages are easy operation, simple use, small size and good mechanical resistance. The device allows you to set a concentration level, the exceeding of which is indicated by an uninterrupted whistle. A catalytic sensor is used as the detection sensor, which responds to a wide range of flammable gases. The instrument is calibrated to methane as standard and, due to the known sensitivity of the sensor to other gases, allows switching between a methane value or a converted propane value. The instrument is equipped with a backlit display showing the current value of the detected gas concentration. It is displayed in %LFL (percentage of lower flammable limit) and in ppm. The battery status is also indicated. The Gofl detector has a fixed battery for powering the device. The internal battery can be recharged using a standard adapter with a USB-C connector.

Restrictions on applicability
The Gofl detector is designed to detect the presence of flammable gas in a standard atmosphere. Correct detection is not guaranteed at low or high oxygen concentrations. In environments where special chemicals may be present, so-called "special effects" may occur. poisoning the sensor. The manufacturer should be consulted for possible use in such an environment. The Gofl is not intended for use in locations designated as ZONE 0, ZONE 1 or ZONE 2.The instrument must not be used in areas of high humidity and droplets of water or other chemicals must be prevented from entering the gas sensor. The instrument is designed for normal non-aggressive environments.
Inspection and calibration of the detector
Depending on the frequency of use, it is recommended to check the Gofl detector once every 6 months for very frequent or continuous use, and up to once a year for less frequent use, using a calibration gas mixture. Turn on the detector with charged batteries at least 15 minutes before the check. A calibration gas with a concentration between 20 and 40 % LFL (lower flammable limit) in air is supplied to the sensor. The instrument shall show the corresponding concentration with a tolerance of ± 5 % of the range / ± 10 % of the reading (for 20 % LFL ± 2,5 % LFL). A test ampoule can be used for an indicative functional test to see if the instrument responds to gas. Bring the ampoule or other container containing the alcohol-containing liquid close to the sensor so that it is about 0,5 cm from the neck of the container. The detector must react and at least the 20 % LFL light must come on. After the test, the detector is left in the switched on state for at least 15 minutes in the fresh air. It is not advisable to test the detector with a test substance for a long period of time.
