Modern Technology

The ECC technology checks transparently and in real time the integrity of data stored in memory. It can find and fix an error in one bit and detect an error in two bits. Some memory controllers also work with the ECC to repair large-scale errors. Most professional desktops require ECC-enabled memory. In cooperation with parity control, the memory achieves maximum control of transmitted data. The parity consists in adding the auxiliary information to the one-bit word (the so-called parity bit) and can subsequently verify the authenticity of the transferred data.
