The Artisan 5KSM125 is equipped with a very quiet and powerful 300W motor with ten speeds from 58 to 220 rpm. Direct drive designed with gears instead of a conventional belt ensures higher efficiency. KitchenAid robots operate at lower power levels under different load conditions than conventional robots. The consequence is longer engine life. Speed 2 is the only speed that should be used for kneading the yeast dough. Only 2 minutes of kneading with the KitchenAid is equivalent to 10 to 12 minutes of hand-kneading yeast dough - thanks to the extremely efficient planetary system.
