Kodak EC35 Midnight Black + Ultramax 24EXP
The Kodak EC35 film camera in black is a mechanical point-and-shoot device for beginners. The camera uses the standard 135 film format, also known as 35mm film, and offers fully manual operation without complicated settings. The construction, made of a solid ABS material, weighs only 102g, making it easy to carry in a bag or pocket. It captures authentic images on classic film without the need for a digital sensor. The device works with an OVF-type optical viewfinder, which is used for direct composition of each shot before pressing the mechanical shutter release.
Key Features of the Kodak EC35 Midnight Black + Ultramax 24EXP Film Camera
- Analogue point-and-shoot camera for 35mm film
- 25mm lens with F10 aperture and 2 optical elements
- Built-in flash for shooting in various lighting conditions
- Sliding lens cover with automatic shutter lock function
- Manual film advance and rewind
- Includes KODAK UltraMax 400 film for 24 exposures and a camera strap
Sliding Lens Cover
The front of the body features a sliding cover that protects the optics from scratches, mechanical damage and dust build-up during transport. This mechanical element also serves as a safety feature. Closing the cover mechanically locks the camera's shutter release. The integrated shutter lock physically prevents accidental presses and unwanted exposure of a frame inside a bag or pocket. This saves the user from wasting precious frames on the loaded film.
Film Camera with Flash
For shooting in low light, at dusk or indoors, there is a built-in flash. The flash requires one AA alkaline battery to power it and charge it. To properly activate the flash and release the shutter, the user must first manually advance the film to the next frame. This manual process activates the flash system for the next exposure. The camera thus maintains full control over scene lighting in different light environments without the need for complex electronic adjustments.
Wide-Angle Lens
The optical system consists of two acrylic optical elements that render the scene being captured. The fixed 25mm focal length offers a wide angle of view, which is suitable for street photography, snapshots and portraits. The fixed f/10 aperture lens focuses from a distance of 1.5m to infinity. The fixed focus eliminates tedious focusing and speeds up the response time when the shutter is pressed.
Manual Control
This analogue device operates purely mechanically without the need for complex electronics. Advancing the film after each shot and rewinding it back into the cartridge after finishing is done entirely manually by the user using integrated controls. The built-in mechanical shutter operates at a fixed speed of 1/100s and facilitates exposure in normal daylight. The overall body dimensions are 65 × 119 × 41.5mm, so it will fit into any pocket or carry-on luggage when travelling.
