The Korg EK-50 keyboard offers automatic musical accompaniment in the form of a range of different Styles, which let you generate a rich and complex musical backing with the press of a single key (or a chord). Because the styles change continuously as you play, you can easily improvise and play a melody with your right hand. The EK-50 offers a variety of Styles, covering more than 280 musical genres from around the world. Each has four different variations (from simple to complex), as well as an original intro and ending. You can easily switch between variations and individual Style elements with the press of a button, even while playing. The STS (Single Touch Select) function is also practical, automatically selecting recommended settings when you switch between Styles. It's the perfect way to pair sounds and Styles, so you always have the optimal setup at your fingertips and can concentrate directly on playing, practising, and performing. The EK-50 has an open-ended design, which means you can add up to 98 more styles via a USB flash drive. Additional useful data should gradually be added to the KORG website.

Wide selection of different sounds and Music Styles function
The EK-50 contains over 702 realistic sounds, including pianos, brass and drums. With the Split function, you can also divide the keyboard and play different sounds at the same time – for example, you can play the piano with your right hand and add a bassline with your left. The EK-50 includes 64 versions of 'Music Styles' which contain preset Styles, sounds and also the tempo of well-known songs.
Intuitive and clear controls
In the centre of the control panel is an easy-to-read display, which shows the currently set sound and Style in large characters. The switches for the individual functions are illuminated with their own LEDs for better clarity. There is also a 'Grand Piano' button on the control panel, which lets you return to the basic grand piano sound at any time.
Built-in speakers for instant enjoyment
The instrument has built-in stereo speakers with an output of 2×10W. These can amplify not only your playing, but you can also play audio from an external device connected to the input jack. A music rest and power adapter are also included in the accessories, so you can start playing right out of the box. The EK-50 can also be powered by AA batteries.
Play along to your favourite songs
If you have a new musical idea, you can record it straight away on the EK-50 and then save it. In Song mode, you can play back not only your own compositions, but also internal demo recordings, MP3 or WAV audio data, or SMF (Standard MIDI File) data saved on a standard USB flash drive. You can also play the instrument while these songs are playing.
