The Korg handytraxx 1bit is a portable turntable focused on high-quality playback and high-resolution digitisation of vinyl records. Stable playback with a JICO MM cartridge
The Korg handytraxx 1bit uses a belt drive with processor-controlled speed and a DC servo motor for stable platter rotation. The die-cast aluminium platter is complemented by a tonearm with an interchangeable headshell and adjustable counterweight. The turntable supports speeds of 33⅓, 45, and 78 rpm, and the wow and flutter is less than 0.15% WTD at 3kHz. The pre-installed JICO J44A 7 MM cartridge allows for playback right out of the box, and the stylus pressure can be adjusted from 1.5 to 3g. The effective tonearm length is 190mm, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 60dB (DIN-B).
Phono preamp with Korg Nutube technology
The integrated phono preamp uses Korg Nutube technology and operates with an RIAA equalisation curve. The phono preamp gain is 38dB, and the tube section control adjusts the gain from 0 to 6dB. For further sound customisation, there are separate bass controls at 130Hz and treble controls at 5.5kHz, both with a range of ±8dB. The built-in stereo speakers provide a maximum output of 2×2.5W, and the headphone output reaches a maximum of 70mW at 32 Ohm. For connecting to an external audio setup, you can use the line or separate phono output.
Vinyl digitisation in DSD and PCM formats
The USB Audio interface supports recording and playback in DSD format at 2.8224 or 5.6448MHz with 1-bit resolution. PCM is supported at sampling frequencies from 44.1 to 192kHz with 16 or 24-bit resolution. After connecting the turntable to a computer, the AudioGate 4 software lets you record, play, and convert audio files, including DSD, FLAC, WAV, and MP3 formats. The turntable can be powered by an AC adapter or six AA alkaline or NiMH batteries, with an operating time of approximately 11 hours when using alkaline batteries. The unit weighs 2.8kg and includes a protective cover for transport and storage.
