A design ready for scratching
The Korg handytraxx play uses a belt drive with digital speed correction and a DC servo motor for stable platter rotation and fast speed recovery. The specially designed tonearm reduces needle skipping during playback and scratching. The crossfader is designed for smooth, precise control, and its channel switching also enables reverse scratching. The turntable supports speeds of 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM and also offers variable speed adjustment. It is fitted with a stereo ceramic cartridge, while the redesigned headshell also supports MM cartridges.
Looper, filters, and delay for creative work
The built-in stereo looper operates at a 44.1kHz sampling rate with 16-bit resolution and can record approximately 20 seconds of audio. The captured loop can be used, for example, while scratching or when changing a record. The digital processing offers three types of filters, which include a combined low-pass and high-pass DJ filter, an EQ filter with a low-frequency boost, and a modulated peaking wah filter. It also includes a delay with adjustable feedback from 0–80% and a time range of 10 to 1000ms. The digital mix and crossfader operate at 44.1kHz with 32-bit floating-point processing.
Portable design with a built-in speaker
The built-in speaker delivers 2.5W of power, so the turntable can play audio without being connected to an external sound system. It is powered by the included AC adapter or six AA alkaline or NiMH batteries. When using alkaline batteries, the operating time is approximately 11 hours under manufacturer-specified conditions. The Korg handytraxx play turntable weighs 2.3kg and measures 370×280×84mm without the cover, and 370×286×87mm with the cover. The control panel can be oriented for right- or left-handed users, and the design also allows the scratch fader to be replaced.
