Exceptional coffee from the Women Coffee Extension (WCE) project features notes of cocoa, hibiscus and red apple. Grown by more than 700 women farmers in the Kamonyi region of Rwanda, it combines succulent flavour with support for women's leadership. WCE provides women with education, economic support and community development - making every cup not only taste great, but also meaningful.

The Story of Women Coffee Extension
WCE was established to empower women in the Rwandan coffee sector and offer them greater economic independence and leadership opportunities. The Mbizi washery, located in the Kamonyi district, works with more than 700 women farmers who grow Bourbon Arabica coffee on high mountain plantations. With a focus on sustainability, WCE supports its members through hands-on agricultural training, financial literacy programs, and community initiatives aimed at improving household incomes.
For the future, WCE has ambitious goals such as achieving Rainforest Alliance Certification, which will increase the value of their coffee. They also plan to provide livestock to all members, offer comprehensive health insurance, set up a sewing workshop to create employment opportunities for young people and build a kindergarten to support local children.
