The microscope has three lenses with magnification of 4×, 10× and 40×. The 40x zoom lens is equipped with a special spring mechanism that prevents damage to the lens during accidental contact with the slide during the focussing process. Even if you lower the objective lens too much and touch the sample with it, the objective lens will retract, preventing any damage. The set also features a Barlow lens that doubles the magnification of any lens used. This gives you up to 1,280 times magnification!
Compared to the original system, this model is enhanced with two illumination systems, an upper and lower LED illumination. The lower lighting is suited to viewing transparent samples. For example, you will be able to examine the structure of a bee’s wing or detect microorganisms in aquarium water. The upper lighting allows for observing non-transparent (opaque) objects such as paper or metal. The lighting can be supplied via the mains or 3 x AA batteries.
