Are you suffering from itchy or burning eyes, swollen eyelids, tearing or congestion due to allergies? Just for you is LIVOSTIN®, an eye drop that brings almost immediate relief from allergic conjunctivitis. Thanks to its topical application, it acts directly at the site of the problem. An allergy is an exaggerated, disproportionate reaction of the body's immune system to substances we commonly encounter - so-called. allergens. It is most often triggered by pollen from flowering plants or dust. It is one of the most common health problems of our time and the number of people affected by these disorders has been steadily increasing in recent years. Allergy sufferers are also a major risk group for asthma. Do men or women suffer more from allergies? This "battle" is very evenly matched. Women represent 55-56% of patients, men 44-45%. It cannot be said that one group or the other is overwhelmingly predominant. The most important influence on allergies is our lifestyle and the environment in which we move and spend our time. It is estimated that up to 50% of the population will have some form of allergy by 2025.

Conjunctivitis caused by allergens

Allergic conjunctivitis is manifested by itching and or burning of the eyes, swelling of the eyelids, tearing and congestion of the conjunctiva, and the affected person has significantly red eyes. In more severe cases, the cornea of the eye may also be affected. Allergic conjunctivitis is very often accompanied by allergic rhinitis.

The mainstay of treatment is symptom control with medication supplemented by individual allergy immunotherapy. It is important to limit contact with the allergen as far as possible! When treating allergy, it is recommended to choose antihistamines that selectively block only H1 receptors to avoid adverse effects due to the influence of other types of receptors in other tissues (e.g. known central nervous system depression with 1st generation antihistamines).

Tips for pollen allergy sufferers:

  • You can protect yourself to some extent from flying pollen by wearing goggles with large lenses, gloves and a respirator.
  • If you don't have to, postpone being outdoors until late afternoon, when the pollen concentration in the air is much lower than in the morning and morning.
  • At the end of the day, always take a thorough shower and wash your hair to wash away pollen grains, and do not leave your clothes in the room where you sleep if possible.
  • Wash bed linen more often in spring. When you ventilate, pollen and other allergens get on your bedding.
  • Leave the grass cutting and gardening to someone else. Spending time outdoors is important, but avoid close contact with allergens.
  • Even your pets carry allergens on their fur.
  • Try Livostin®!

Using LIVOSTIN®

The usual recommended dosage is one drop of LIVOSTIN® Eye Drops twice daily in both eyes for adults and children 6 years of age and older. If the discomfort is very unpleasant, you can instill one drop three or four times a day. Treatment can continue until the difficulties improve. However, if there is no significant improvement or resolution of the discomfort within one week, consult your doctor about further use of the product. Due to the renal excretion of levokabastin, a physician should be consulted in case of renal impairment with regard to the duration of administration of the drug. No dosage adjustment is necessary for hepatic impairment.

Instructions for use:
1. Before using the eye drops for the first time, completely remove the cover ring of the bottle.
2. Shake the contents of the vial thoroughly before removing the cap.
3. Tilt your head as far back as possible.
4. Squeeze the bottle and gently drop one drop into the inner corner of the eye. Then pull the lower eyelid downwards, with the head still tilted, to allow the drop to enter the space between the lower eye and the lower eyelid. You will automatically blink, and this will disperse the drop evenly throughout the eye.
5. Repeat the same procedure from point 3 for the other eye.

Do not touch the surface of the eye with the drip cap to avoid accidental contamination of the contents. Do not use eye drops for more than one month after first opening the bottle.
