MATATALAB MT3-2
The MATATALAB MT3-2 digital microscope is designed for the detailed observation of microscopic samples in schools and clubs. This educational light microscope uses LED illumination for both transmitted and reflected light to examine various specimens in detail. Optical magnification is complemented by digital image transmission, providing a magnification of 40× to 1200×. Users can observe the structure of materials directly on a connected screen or computer, all housed in a white-coloured frame.

Display options
This digital system uses a modern Aptina CMOS sensor to capture details. The sensor resolution varies depending on the specific configuration, available in 2MP, 5MP, or 8MP. Users get a total optical magnification of up to 810× with the higher version of the device. The optical system includes up to four objective lenses with 4/10/40/60× magnification. The image is transmitted to the integrated LCD display or an external monitor.
Flexible display and controls
The design includes a tilting 7″ IPS touchscreen. You can tilt the screen up to 135° for viewing from different positions. Measure the real size of the examined objects directly on the touchscreen without needing to connect to a computer. The control interface supports switching between 10 languages for international use.
Specimen illumination
The system uses two independent LED light sources for optimal visibility. The brightness of both light sources can be smoothly adjusted using a rotary control on the body of the microscope. Transmitted light is used for observing thin, transparent specimens on a slide. Reflected light illuminates opaque, three-dimensional objects from above.
Precise mechanical stage
For sample handling, the microscope has a mechanical X-Y cross stage with fine adjustment. Users can move the specimen along two axes using coaxial controls. The integrated millimetre scale helps to precisely determine the position of the observed area on the sample. The coaxial control eliminates the need for manual slide movement and increases precision at high magnification.
Data transfer
The device supports both wireless and wired real-time image transmission. The integrated Wi-Fi module is used for wireless connection to smartphones and tablets. Users can save captured photos and video recordings directly to an inserted SD card. For connecting to a computer, a USB-C interface ensures stable data transfer.
Analysis and measurement in software
The equipment includes a calibration ruler for precise scale setting in the computer software. After calibration, the MatataXplore software can be used to measure lengths, angles, and areas on the captured images. On-the-go power is provided by a 2000mAh rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for a constant mains connection. This lets users perform advanced analysis of microscopic structures.
