About the Hampstead brand
The Hampstead Tea brand sources its tea leaves from the famous Darjeeling region of India, specifically from the Makaibari tea garden, where they have been grown and hand-picked since 1859.It is a place with an exceptional history - it was here that the first family-run tea processing factory in the world was established. Makaibari is also a pioneer of biodynamic agriculture, the principle of which is gentle farming in harmony with nature and restoring nutrients in the soil without the use of chemicals. Thanks to the support of Hampstead Tea, this area became the first in the world to receive Demeter certification, which guarantees the highest standards of sustainable and ethical farming. Products with this label also guarantee fair rewards for growers and respect for their work. Founded in 1989, Hampstead Tea invests a portion of its profits back into farming communities, supporting education, healthcare and development projects.
